Visitors to the Zimmerhof hotel will be immersed in Lier's rich history. Lier offers many places of interest, such as the Begijnhof (beguinage) and the Stadhuis (town hall) and its belfryThe beguinage and belfry are even on the UNESCO World Heritage ListLier is the town of the clockmaker Louis Zimmer, to whom the famous Zimmertoren refers, but also of the writer and poet Felix Timmermans, best known for his novel ‘Pallieter’. You can explore the town on foot, or opt for a nice relaxed bike ride around Lier and the surrounding area. The hotel is located at walking intersection 56 - Wandelnetwerk Kempense Hoven, and at cycling intersection 89. You can also discover the town by boat, in an old eel barge on the 'Binnennete'. 

Lier is also a green oasis of calm, which you can discover via a walk through the park or in the Vesten, a green belt around the centre which is about 5 km long, or you can also opt for a nature walk in the Lier polder.

A few museums in Lier: the Timmermans-Opsomer culture and history museum, the Oscar van Rompay house museum, the Wuyts-Van Campen & Baron Caroly museum and fans of sport and racing cars will enjoy the Abarth Works Museum.

As the 'gateway to the Kempen’, Lier is the ideal base to discover the Antwerp Kempen, but major cities like Antwerp (18 km), Mechelen (12 km) and Brussels (45 km) are also within reach.
